- Don’t ask: How is it going? How is your day?
Such questions lead to short answers (good / fine). - Ask questions that get you out of good / fine trap:
- You got a little pep in your step today, what did you have for breakfast?
- You look happy… what were you doing before this?
- Don’t ask: What do you like to do?
People give generic answers such as travel or movies. - Ask: What is an ideal Sunday morning for you?
- Ask: What is something you are happy to overspend on?
(Great way to get to know someone.)
